Care to Learn was founded in 2008 to help every child be successful in school. Now, 15 years later, Care to Learn is celebrating meeting over 3 million health, hunger, and hygiene needs.

In 2008, Care to Learn started with one goal and one mission: To fill the gaps for Springfield students in the areas of health, hunger, and hygiene and to help kids living in poverty. It has now expanded to 42 communities all across Missouri and is available to more than 130,000 students.
Care to Learn announced meeting 3 million needs at the 2nd Annual School Soiree presented by Mercy Hospital Springfield at the White River Conference Center on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
