We're excited to share that Jared Alexander has been named our Vice President of Development, effective July 2026. In this role, he will help lead Care to Learn’s development efforts, build meaningful donor relationships, and expand philanthropic support to advance the organization's mission to meet students’ health, hunger, and hygiene needs so they can succeed in school.
“Growing up in Springfield and attending Springfield Public Schools, I experienced firsthand how important strong schools and supportive communities are in shaping a child’s future,” says Alexander. “Early in my career, I led free after-school programs in Title I schools, where I saw how organizations like Care to Learn build students’ confidence and self-esteem by meeting their basic needs. Now, as a parent, I’m grateful for opportunities to support our kids’ classrooms and schools and to be part of a community that shows up for its students. That's exactly what Care to Learn is all about, and I’m honored to be part of work that makes such a direct and lasting difference in kids’ lives.”
Alexander brings extensive nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and community engagement expertise to Care to Learn. Most recently, he served as President/Executive Director of Harmony House, where he led organizational operations, supported strategic planning, managed donor and community relationships, and helped advance mission-driven work across southwest Missouri. His experience in development, major giving, grants, special events, and community partnerships makes him a strong fit for Care to Learn as the organization continues growing its reach.
“Jared is an exceptional leader who has already made a lasting impact in our community, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to the Care to Learn team,” says Krystal Simon, CEO. “His extensive experience leading fundraising campaigns and advancing advocacy efforts is invaluable, but what truly sets him apart is his genuine passion for helping others. Jared understands that behind every need is a child, a family, and a story; and he brings that perspective to everything he does.”
Alexander graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Sport, and Park Administration with an emphasis in Parks and Outdoor Recreation. He is an Eagle Scout and remains actively involved in the Springfield community.
