Jared Alexander

Jared Alexander joined the Care to Learn Team in July 2026. He is the Vice President of Development for Care to Learn. 

In this role, Jared builds relationships with donors, community partners, and supporters who help make it possible for Care to Learn to meet the health, hunger, and hygiene needs of students across Missouri. 

Jared brings extensive nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and community engagement expertise to Care to Learn. Most recently, he served as President/Executive Director of Harmony House, where he led organizational operations, supported strategic planning, managed donor and community relationships, and helped advance mission-driven work across southwest Missouri. His experience in development, major giving, grants, special events, and community partnerships makes him a strong fit for Care to Learn as the organization continues growing its reach. 

Outside of work, Jared enjoys spending time with his wife, Kate, and their two children, Carter and Leah. Together, they stay busy with school and sports activities and enjoy spending time outdoors camping, fishing, or at the lake. Jared also enjoys playing golf, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, and watching the latest Marvel movie.

Jared's Insight & Experience: 

“Growing up in Springfield and attending Springfield Public Schools, I experienced firsthand how important strong schools and supportive communities are in shaping a child’s future. Early in my career, I led free after-school programs in Title I schools, where I saw how organizations like Care to Learn build students’ confidence and self-esteem by meeting their basic needs. Now, as a parent, I’m grateful for opportunities to support our kids’ classrooms and schools and to be part of a community that shows up for its students. That's exactly what Care to Learn is all about, and I’m honored to be part of work that makes such a direct and lasting difference in kids’ lives.”

Favorite Teacher: 

“I have a couple of educators who made an impact. One is my 7th-grade English teacher who taught us all to be kind to people we meet in life, even when we may not receive the same. And my college advisor, who gave me much-needed direction when I wasn’t sure which path to take. He helped me turn my passions into a career and a degree path with like-minded people who became great friends.”
